We anticipate a robust baking program where we’ll be challenging the status quo on taste and flavor with alternative flours, sourdough breads, and innovative techniques … the products already much anticipated Valley-wide!
We offer this all in a relaxed and welcoming, hip café setting that includes skylight streaming in throughout and an open kitchen concept with a nod to local and like-minded wine and craft beer producers as well as local artisans, and a fun lifestyle retail element. We’ve developed a state-of-the-art online ordering platform, curbside delivery and an extensive grab-and-go element. Key Elements of The Baker Position:

Create, implement and maintain bakery and production systems, tools and process
Passionate, skilled and creative in your approach to baking as well as open to learning new techniques
Depth of knowledge of sourdough, alternative flours and unconventional ingredients a +
Know the products, ingredients and sources and can describe our offerings to customers
Provide excellent baked goods in an efficient, professional manner
Follow current recipe line up and execute recipes, perform quality checks on ingredients and finished products; quality improvement standards always top of mind
Execute R&D and testing of ingredients where needed to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controls
Measure, combine and scale ingredients/recipes using mixers, blenders, etc.
Along with a wide variety of breads, ability to execute an array of baked goods such as cookies, crackers, cakes, desserts, etc.
Attention to detail is key; Decorating and displaying finished products to highest level of bakery aesthetics
Enhance product presentation, and process orders from customers
Efficient and friendly with a focus on food quality and customer satisfaction.
Organized, decisive, attentive, and possess a strong understanding of baking techniques.
Implement strategies to assure 100% bakery quality satisfaction
Monitor and enforce food safety, housekeeping and sanitation standards
Practice a relentless pursuit of consistency, quality, order, and cleanliness. Able to enforce standards
Fill-in for fellow employees to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations
Desired Skills and Experience:
Minimum 1-year baking in a commercial environment
Extensive knowledge of kitchen and baking equipment and small wares
Extensive knowledge of baking ingredients with a focus on plant-based food a +
Enthusiastic & positive attitude with excellent verbal communication skills
Baking technical skill set, depth and experience
Teamwork - Balance team and individual responsibilities; Exhibit objectivity and openness to ideas from others
Diversity - Show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences
Judgment - Exhibit sound and accurate judgment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to step into any role at any time based on business needs
